One moment, you’re driving down the highway towards a family reunion. Suddenly, you “come to” driving the wrong way down a divided highway. This was reality for Hilary Stanton, of Devon Alberta. Hilary suffered from Dissociative Identity Disorder, formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. Even though DID is a recognized psychiatric disorder, it’s often treated with skepticism.
Whether you’re a believer, you’ll find Hilary’s story fascinating - as she enters therapy to discover what causes those mystifying gaps in time. Over time, 35 different personalities, or “alters” reveal themselves. With Hilary’s permission, her therapist, Dr. Cheryl Malmo, tapes their sessions for training purposes — capturing ten years of Hilary’s courageous journey to meet, and subsequently assimilate, the different “people” who comprise her fragmented self. Hilary has also given us permission to use these videotaped therapy sessions in a documentary for CBC’s The Lens. When the Devil Knocks airs in 2010 on CBC Television.

I really look foward to seeing this, it looks utterly facinating!
Having met Hillary and knowing how nice and outgoing and friendly she is, how much of an outstanding person she is, this is going to be quite an amazing story!
